Women's World Cup - Soccer

In an hour (or less) Eastern Time, the USWNT (United States Women's National Team) will take the stage to start the group play with the match against Vietnam. It's the first time Vietnam made the cut since world play began on the women's side of the game in 1991, with 12 teams competing in China. I can't wait! Guess who won that first women's cup? If you guessed the USA, ding, ding, ding, you are the winner!

The FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 follows a familiar format of 32 teams divided into eight groups - Group A to H - of four teams each. The teams in each group will compete in a single-headed round-robin format in the group stage of the competition. USA's group stage includes Netherlands, Portugal, and Vietnam.

It is tomorrow there already in Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand. That's crazy, right? I believe our fine and fit athletes will show their skills against a newish team in Vietnam. However, no one can ever rest on their previous laurels. It will be a fight to win and keep winning!

Since many of the games will be played practically a world away - New Zealand and Australia - they will be good for viewers with insomnia. Whether or not the games start at 1:00 am, 3:00 am, 5:30 am, or 6:00 am, I'll probably have to watch highlights - unless the US is playing at those awful time slights - and I'll try to get up and support the home team.

GO TEAM USA!!!
