Reflection on #HelpingOthers

Updated: Apr 11, 2022

When going through a rough patch in life, what I've found helpful is to help others. It doesn't have to be a grandiose thing, it can be so small as sending sunshiny thoughts to a loved one or a good friend. If creative, you can make something, or send a card, or even make a meal.

Keep it simple.

A dozen of delicious chocolate chip cookies can go a long way! Same with chicken soup. They are both medicinal that can't be explained, but you know what I'm talking about I hope.

While looking through my camera roll on my phone looking for something else, I paused when I stopped and looked at my 2018 trip to Ethiopia. I sat back in my chair to take in the memory that meant so much to me. At the Mother Teresa Home in Addis Ababa, I was able to share my story about my son, Ryan, with the kids there who all were battling all kinds of cancer.

I also brought 32 quilts, generously and lovingly created by my quilt guild to cover each cot in the home.

This trip was magical in all ways. I hope to be out in the world once again, manufacturing sunshine by sharing gifts, even if it's a smile and a quilt.

bSoleille!
