One Week at 64 and I’m All Nostalgic..Ha!
When hubby Bill shared an article titled “Be Mentally Attractive” by Dr. Chandrasekhar Bode, a 90-year-old physician, teacher, and lifelong student of humanity, I knew I had to share it with my daily writing group in Purple Space and on my blog. I already made a copy to accompany Chris Larson’s Optimist Creed pinned up by my sink, so I can read it while brushing my teeth each morning. It’s a good reminder of who, what, and why we get up to get after whatever we need (and want) to do.
Seth Godin. says, “Go Make a Ruckus.” I like to say, “Let’s Manufacture Sunshine.” Tomato, tomatoh…
"Be Mentally Attractive”
After decades of healing bodies and observing minds, I have learned that real beauty has little to do with the mirror.
Be mentally attractive.
Looks fade. Trends die. Charm ends when the silence begins.
But your clarity, your depth, your calm in chaos, that is what truly pulls people in.
I have met thousands of faces over the years.
The ones I still remember? Not the flawless, but the kind, the curious, the ones whose presence made others feel safe.
A calm mind is magnetic.
A wise heart is irresistible.
And a genuine smile, that is nature’s own therapy.
It not only heals others, it exercises 43 muscles that keep your face alive and your spirit youthful.
So work on your thoughts, and don’t forget to smile.
Because the energy of your mind and the warmth of your face enter the room before you do.
Don’t just be well-dressed, be well-spoken.
Don’t just be fit in body, be disciplined in mind.
Don’t just look strong, be calm in chaos, kind in conflict, and wise in silence.
The real glow is not from filters.
It is from how you think under pressure, how you treat those who can do nothing for you, and how you carry grace in stillness.
Beauty fades.
But a sharp mind, a soft heart, and a smiling face born of peace, those never grow old."
It's the Thanksgiving Season, and I hope this article may resonate. Thanks so much for reading along with me!
