Yesterday, Ryan and I left the house at 5:30 am to take part in volunteering for the Just Trying It kid’s triathlon at the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. Daughter Olivia is on the board, and was assigned as the lead in the transition area of the race (where the bicycles are held between the swim/bike/run).
Seeing over 400 kids ranging in age from 5-14 helping kids with their fundraising efforts and then competing was an incredible inspiration for our entire family, and Ryan loves all the kids he helps with their bikes, helmets and shoes.
Back in the day I’ve done announcing duties for big events like high school and college track meets, along with the Ohio Games held in Cleveland, Ohio. So I slipped in comfortably as the MC and announcer for each kid who crossed the finish line. I may have missed a few, but some of the kids did not have a bib number or a shirt for me to find their names. It was a glorious morning and the event was a great reminder on the good people do for one another!
And I'd like to shower my sister Kimberly and her husband Jerry with CONGRATULATIONS on a very happy milestone anniversary today - 30 years married! Now that is truly a blessing since marriage is hard work. But strong faith and commitment got these two to 30 years, and their love is everlasting ♥️.
bSoleille!
