Adventure awaits around every corner here in Nîmes. Plus, the surrounding areas are under lots of Roman influence, infrastructure, and ingenuity that is rarely seen anywhere else, except Italy, and, I’m thinking, Greece (haven’t been to Greece…yet). I can’t get enough of how different many things are in these small towns sandwiched between rolling olive groves and large and small vineyards cascading down various sized fields and hills.

Exploring worlds that are different than mine makes my heart happy. I’d also like to add, travel is my therapy. Don’t you think there is a version of yourself that comes alive when you travel? It does mine. And, travel does not have to be to far flung places, either. Yesterday, I got goosebumps and shed a few tears while watching the international triathlon set against this ancient city of Nîmes - especially the Arena standing tall and imposing as the runners turned the corner and ran through the lower level of it and onto the finish line area. In addition to ancient builidings, anyone can linger in a museum, or order something new on the menu just because. It’s a grand part of life to fulfill our own agency - and not waiting for or asking permission to do something.

Travel nurtures me.

Travel keeps me curious about our entire world (keeping the adage that people are good no matter where they live!).

Travel reminds me/us that you are not who you’ve always been. We never step in the same river twice.

For me, an adventure could be very simple, like heading to a local museum that I’ve gone to several times (The Renwick in Washington D. C. comes to mind), a new grocery store near where I live, or one I rarely go into is also a nice adventure in foodstuffs.

If you’ve been planning a trip either local or national or international, I hope you GO!

Summer is here (at least the temperatures are), so please enjoy the sleeveless shirts, long days, and an iced tea or other cold and delicious beverage.

Viva la France!

Terri
