Day 8 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Writer: Terri TomoffTerri Tomoff

The big bugaboo about the audio for The Focused Fight is that I did not edit all the episodes (chapters) after recording them last summer. Because I let a Blooper-filled Ch. 5 fly inadvertently, I must go over each recording—not just cut and paste them from the folder they are safely ensconced in. Frankly, it's another big learning curve, one I'm thankful to embark on since it makes me incrementally grateful and better at all the nuances of a recording platform. You know, it stretches those brain cells and muscles a bit.

So, while trying to get ahead in the forthcoming episodes by listening to what I already recorded and now editing, I wept while working on Ch. 14 (Relapse). Thoughts and feelings came flooding back to me. Tears, too, after I considered how I couldn't believe I/we got through all the mayhem and madness of it all. Who was that woman? Who was that woman who wrote that book?

Can it be me?

I am still in disbelief that this happened to us and that we had to face the struggles we needed to face each day.

The whole thing is a great reminder NOT to sweat the small stuff; pretty much everything is.
