Day 29 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with Heat Dziczek Sharing the Meaning of a Fifth Card in the Cancer.Com Deck

Heath (Heather) Dziczek's Cancer Cards are simply genius. A cancer survivor herself (Lymphoma), she had many awkward conversations with well-meaning friends and family, and decided that there could be a better way to address tough conversations. Through her experiences, she decided to create something that can be helpful to many facing loved ones with any cancer. So, Heat became the founder of cancer.cards.

Through gently immersive workshops, compelling talks, and The Cancer Cards—the world’s first deck of its kind—we’re changing how people show up when words feel insufficient.

Cancer touches most of our lives only once or twice if we’re lucky, but we’re often ill-equipped to support someone through serious illness. We want to fix it. Spoiler: we can’t. But we can make their experience better by learning how to connect authentically during difficult times.

Also, Heat is a speaker, writer, teacher, advocate, and a collector of stories who is always curious and occasionally hilarious! We met in Seth Godin's Purple Space—a virtual water cooler for daily inspiration, productivity, and networking, a few years ago.
