Day 26 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with Superbadass Caregiver Micki LaVres!

It’s Day 26 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! I’ve learned through the years which Rose Kennedy eloquently stated, “Life isn’t a matter of milestones but of moments.”

Let’s face it, some moments are difficult and straining, but those moments end, to hopefully sunshine and better days and milestones for us to remember.

My guest today, in celebration of CCAM, has nothing to do with the topic of childhood cancer EXCEPT that Micki LaVres is a self-proclaimed Badass Superhero https://mickijeanlavres.com/ and is the ultimate caregiver for her quadriplegic husband, Frank.

Cancer families know "badass" caregiving like Micki - a massive connection.

Micki shares the gold she has learned over 32 years of caring for her husband. The video is a bit longer (by a couple of minutes) than the others this month, but her story and the nuggets shared are too compelling not to include.

For writers, Micki states, “words have power.” Carefully crafting the words we use in our writing is one of her nuggets of wisdom. I couldn’t agree more.

It’s been a hard life for Micki and Frank, but she finds joy and laughter in their days together, which speaks volumes about how she Manufactures Sunshine for all who meet her or engage with her, especially her spouse, her number one charge.
