Nothing was easy during the summer of 2004 because Ryan's leukemia was out of control and wreaking havoc inside his body. Chapter 10 — Walking on a Razor's Edge, gives examples of how crazy it was, along with the thought that Ryan must be, and remain, in a solid remission before a bone marrow transplant.

Photos: 1) Ryan and I were walking the dogs the day before he was admitted (Georgetown) for the rest of the summer to prep for his PBMT. 2) The family with Ryan once he started the chemotherapy (no protocol) to hopefully eliminate those pesky cancer cells.
