Day 14 of CCAM🎗️: Never Underestimate the Power of a Chocolate Chip Cookie!
That’s right! The title of this post is no joke. I can’t stress enough how a simple box/tray/bag of chocolate chip cookies can #helpothers! Brownies work too!
If you want to help others going through a difficult time, baking or buying cookies could be the way to go. If the family, or child, cannot eat them, they can take the cookies to the hospital and share them with the nurses or resident doctors, or other staff.
Believe me, they will get eaten in about 5 minutes flat. (The smell alone will point their noses to where they are stashed). And…
The cookies will be appreciated!
Those reading this may think this a small gesture in the help hierarchy, but it is certainly not.
Because it’s never just about the cookies.
It’s about someone taking the time to bake them, or buy them (the ones that taste just like homemade ones), package them up, and show up. It’s about letting a family know that while their world may have turned upside down, someone else is thinking about them. Do you know how powerful that is?
During our years in the childhood cancer trenches, I learned that people often want to help but simply don’t know what to do. My advice as it pertains to this post:
Do the small thing.
Drop off the cookies. Send the card. Bring the brownies. Drop off some gift cards for local eateries.
Kindness doesn’t have to be complicated to matter. Make it easy for you…and them.
And if you’ve followed me for any length of time, you probably already know my philosophy:
Never underestimate a chocolate chip cookie. 🍪💛…especially when it comes with a side of love. Now that is some manufacturing sunshine💕 ☀️
