Day 11 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month & The Focused Fight on Several Platforms.

When I began writing The Focused Fight: A Childhood Cancer Memoir, from Mayhem to Miracles, in earnest during the pandemic, my goal was to reach one person or one family at a time. Four years later, that is still my mantra. If our story fighting cancer can help one more person in the trenches, then my job is done. Unfortunately, too many kids are diagnosed each day (47). I am sick of so many lives changing on a dime with a cancer diagnosis.

However, as I say in my video today, there is hope around every corner due to the power of community, connection, and a chocolate chip cookie. Help is available if we look, research, and ask the social workers at hospitals where children and families are treated.

It's because someone who didn't need it a week ago or a year ago, but is looking for this kind of information today, and finds it, that's where the dots are connected. That would be a thrilling feeling for me if that actually happens. Maybe so.
