It gives me great pleasure to announce good things happening to good people. Take, for example, the Diamonds5 family of Crofton, Maryland, by hosting the 13th Annual Novice Swim Meet at the Crofton Swim and Tennis Club last evening. Over (5) Clubs competed in all swimming events. It was super cute to see the U6s swim the butterfly for 25 yards, just saying.
Cam's parents, Carol and BJ, have dedicated a large part of their lives to helping cancer kids at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, culminating in this yearly swim meet. Their daughter, Cameron, valiantly fought her childhood cancer (diagnosed as a newborn) for many years and passed away in 2008 at the age of eight years old. This swim meet is dedicated to her fighting spirit and her spunkiness through her cancer treatments.
Campower = Hope!
The community continues to come out in droves to this meet, donating to the cause, writing cards to the hospitalized kids facing enormous medical challenges, buying raffle tickets and Campower merchandise, and more to further the mission of https://campowerforall.org/.
Son Ryan, who always had a soft spot for Cami and her family, has volunteered every year at this event since its inception. He knows firsthand what it means to the kids receiving the benefits of the Diamond's vision for #helpingothers!
A huge shout of Thanks to Carol and BJ, along with their daughters Amanda and Julie (and their families), for bringing light to kids fighting the good cancer fight and Manufacturing Sunshine for so many in the Mid-Atlantic region.
They are truly Hometown Heroes!
