Rain pounded the roof and windows when my alarm went off at 7:15 am. I jumped out of bed because I had to leave early enough to get to my Pickleball Club, The Putaway. I hoped my teammates would arrive around the same time so we could all do a proper warm-up. I knew the competition would be fierce.
