The Lighter Light!

When I woke up this morning, the last day of February (Feb-end), I felt lighter for some reason. Winter is still hanging around for a few more weeks, as the calendar says, but I didn’t feel so cold as I usually do.

The second I swung the bedroom door open, the brilliant light cascading down the hallway shocked me a bit. I certainly wasn’t expecting how lit up it was, and for another second, thought someone had left the overhead light on overnight. Nope.

Maybe here the Mid-Atlantic, the tide of light has turned the corner, marching toward Spring and Summer (my favorite).

One way I got through this seasons terrible winter weather was to wear many layers, always topping it off with a wool sweater, a fleece jacket and two pairs of pants (a pair of long John’s). No one else in my family dresses this way, because they say they are never as cold as me.

Playing pickleball a few times a week also helped. I wear summer court clothes (skorts and tank tops) under all those layers. Once I’m warmed up (fairly quickly), I shed the extra layers to play.

I’ve always been a cold baby! My mom used to tell my friends that even in 90 degree weather, I would shiver once out of a pool or sprinkler. She was correct.

Cheers to warmer days ahead, and the light.

Always the light. ☀️
