Should I Buy a Lottery Ticket Since I Won Quilt Guild Raffle Basket?

My quilt guild, the Southern Comforters of Bowie, Maryland, was at it again with programming. And, in the process , I Won a Movie Night Raffle Basket! I also secured items for a huge food basket for the basket raffle with the help of my Just Sew Bee 🐝 mates, and Jane McKinley.

Yesterday, my guild hosted a Quilters Showcase event, including our guild challenge, a robust handcrafted boutique, our raffle quilt, and raffle basket prizes. Since we do not host an annual quilt show like we used to, up until 2020, we need other means to raise funds to keep our guild operating.

In the last five years or sew, we’ve hosted a Bingo in March, and this type of pre-holiday showcase in the fall. We had a great turn out, and thankful quilters from near and far, as well as the Bowie community came out to support.

It was a great day hanging out with my sewing sisters, and the folks that come to our events.

For local folks, our March Bingo will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026. So, please mark your calendars!
