In the midst of a beautiful location with well appointed buildings and hotel style “dorm” rooms, almost a dozen quilters descended on the Eastern Shore of Maryland to sew, eat, and build our community of fiber artists.
The amazing sewists here are terrific friends too. We push each other in whatever projects we are passionately working on, and the ideas flow like a fast river. In fact, the huge property we are on, Pecometh Camp & Retreat Ministries, is nestled on the Chester River (flows into the Chesapeake Bay).
I’m enjoying the time spent here, working on some non Tshirt quilt projects for the first two days, and hopefully working on those the last day or so we’re here.
This is my first time in this area of the Maryland, and it’s really quite striking. There was even some time today to forest bathe among the trees and birds near the river. I haven’t seen an eagle like some saw one, but certainly lots of turkey vultures and hawks circling overhead.
As I left my room this morning, I was close and primed to capture a vulture ready to take flight. It was perched on the large cross lookin’ so debonair.
It’s the little things.
bSoleille!
