I hope to do some short interviews at tonight’s SL gala at the Hilton Tyson’s Corner venue. I’m not sure if I will be able to post the full blog from the floor of the gala due to noise and WiFi considerations in the ballroom (the copy here, yes, a video, probably not until tomorrow). It’s going to be a great night in celebration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, with a special emphasis on the people who run Special Love’s Camps and programming, and he generous donors who support them throughout the year.
In celebration, we all know it’s about the kids and families of SL, as well as the mission of providing support in many ways. Unsolicited this morning, my sister-in-law, Beth, made a comment that, through the years of attending this gala, she has come to realize how truly special this night is, along with the special energy she feels, which is, however, difficult to articulate. She sees what it really means to all the families amidst the hoopla of this fun event. Perhaps, if you were a first timer, you wouldn’t even realize that the funds raised this night, and through the year, are helping weary families fight the good fight of childhood cancer, and beyond the finish line of treatment.
How-How!
Special moments, special memories, Special Love.
